Madhavan v. Jaddou Update

Our case has been assigned to Senior Judge Thomas Samuel Zilly. The court has issued summons for the government defendants, which means we can now formally “serve” them papers to start their 60-day response clock next week.

In the meantime we are also working on a motion for preliminary injunction, which is be a request to the court to order USCIS to begin adjudicating your green cards immediately while the lawsuit is in process. We will let you know when that has been filed.

A few frequently asked questions:

  • I don’t see my name on PACER! Am I in the complaint? Yes, if you joined the lawsuit by June 24, you are included. PACER does NOT display all plaintiffs names when there are dozens of plaintiffs in the case. Those of you who joined after June 24 will be added in our amended complaint. You do not need to email us to confirm.
  • Are my spouse and/or child included? Yes. The complaint includes the names of spouses and initials of minor children, as well as the receipt numbers if you provided them to us.

Reminders:

We will keep you updated by email when there are important developments, and we will be available to answer your questions most weeks via our Youtube channel livestreams at 12:00 pm Eastern on Tuesdays.

A friendly reminder that we cannot answer your case-specific questions and you have not hired us to represent you in your individual adjustment of status applications. Please do not contact us via social media to ask questions about the case.

We will soon send a link for a web form that you can use to share updates about the progress of your application.
